Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Physical Education Teacher and Coach to inspire and nurture the physical development of preschool children. In this vital role, you will design engaging movement activities that promote gross motor skills, coordination, and overall health. Your enthusiasm will motivate young learners to develop a love for physical activity while supporting their social-emotional growth. You will collaborate with classroom teachers and parents to create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment that fosters early childhood development through movement and play.
Duties
- Develop and implement age-appropriate physical education curricula tailored for preschool children, incorporating fundamental motor skills, coordination, and teamwork.
- Lead lively, engaging movement activities that encourage active participation, ensuring all children are included and motivated.
- Integrate concepts of childhood development, behavior management, and classroom management into daily activities to promote positive social interactions.
- Collaborate with early childhood educators to incorporate physical activity into overall lesson plans, including literacy education and math through movement-based learning.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about their child's progress in physical development, behavior during activities, and ways to support learning at home.
- Ensure safety protocols are followed during all activities; maintain first aid and CPR certifications to respond promptly to emergencies.
- Support children with special needs or those requiring early intervention by adapting activities to meet individual developmental requirements.
Experience
- Proven experience teaching physical education or movement-based activities to young children in preschool or early childhood settings.
- Strong background in childhood development instruction, behavior management, classroom management, and child welfare principles.
- Familiarity with curriculum development tailored for early childhood education, including toddler care and preschool teaching strategies.
- Experience working with children who have special educational needs or require early intervention services.
- Excellent communication skills for effective parent communication and teamwork with educators; ability to foster a positive learning environment.
- Knowledge of mandated reporting laws related to child safety and welfare; commitment to maintaining a safe classroom environment.
- Prior experience in private school settings or similar educational environments is preferred; familiarity with standardized testing is a plus.
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
