American Traveler is hiring an MRI Technologist with 3–5 years of experience for an evening shift contract at a Level II Trauma Center and Magnet-designated facility in Milwaukee, WI.

MRI department in a 933-bed Level II Trauma Center, Level III NICU, Magnet-designated, and Primary Stroke Center facility in Milwaukee, WI
-
Department operates 5 of 6 MRI scanners with a weekly census of 250–300 patients
-
Patient population includes outpatient, inpatient, and ED patients; case types include neuro, oncology, musculoskeletal, implantable devices, ventilated and sedated patients, whole body, and cardiac (cardiac experience preferred)

1:1 patient ratio

Equipment includes GE Discovery 750W, Siemens Aera, and Siemens Magnetom Skyra

McKesson PACS and Epic EMR required

Monday–Thursday evening shifts, 2:00 PM–10:30 PM (8-hour shifts, 32 hours/week)
-
Weekend on-call occurs approximately once every 8 weeks, running from 6:30 AM Saturday through 5:30 AM Monday, including an on-site Saturday shift (typically 7:30 AM–4:00 PM) with a compensatory weekday off provided

First-shift backup on-call is a weekly rotating responsibility, typically 1–2 mornings per week from 6:30 AM–2:30 PM, utilized only when a first-shift staff member is unable to work and volume cannot be absorbed by the team

Weekend on-call: Saturday and Sunday nights, 9:00 PM–6:30 AM; backup on-call: Saturday and Sunday, 6:30 AM–9:00 PM, with a 30-minute response time

No floating required — MRI unit only

Holiday coverage based on unit needs

Minimum 3–5 years of MRI experience, with most recent experience within the last year
-
Active ARRT-MR or ARMRIT certification required
-
Current BLS required
-
License required if applicable
-
Epic EMR experience required
-
Hands-on experience with GE and Siemens MRI equipment required
-
Experience with neuro, oncology, musculoskeletal, implantable devices, ventilated and sedated patients, whole body, and cardiac MRI case types required

Breast MRI and Breast MRI Biopsy experience preferred
-
Minimum 1 professional reference from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN, collected within the last year, required for consideration

Supported by a Lead Tech/Coordinator and Imaging Assistants; travelers are never left working alone

3-day orientation provided

Weekend rotation scheduled at a maximum of every 3rd weekend

Time off requests require Nurse Manager approval

Former employees of Advocate Health or any of its subsidiaries must have been separated for at least 12 months before being eligible
