Job Summary:
The Social Work Supervisor, Emergency Department oversees the daily clinical and administrative operations of the Social Work team, providing leadership, staff supervision, scheduling, training, and clinical oversight for MSW interns and LSWs pursuing licensure. This role also provides direct patient care, including psychosocial assessment, crisis intervention, care coordination, and discharge planning, while collaborating with patients, families, healthcare providers, and community organizations to connect individuals with appropriate resources, strengthen support systems, and ensure safe and timely transitions of care from the Emergency Department.

Job Qualifications:
Minimum of three (3) years of post-LCSW clinical experience required
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with patients, families, interdisciplinary care teams, and community partners
Emergency Department and crisis intervention experience preferred, including the ability to support patients and families in high-acuity and fast-paced healthcare settings
Demonstrated commitment to professional excellence, ethical practice, and the delivery of high-quality patient-centered care
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
Availability to work nights and weekends as needed to support departmental operations and patient care needs
Must provide clinical supervision and demonstrate experience supervising clinical staff and/or interns
Education Requirements:
Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution required
License/Certification/Registry:
Must hold a current Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) credential in the State of New Jersey
Eligibility for LCSW licensure requires completion of two (2) years of post-MSW supervised clinical experience in accordance with New Jersey licensing requirements
