Job Description: Factory Acceptance Technician (Contract to hire)

We are seeking a Factory Acceptance Test Technician (Contract) to join the robotics production and test organization. In this role, you will work closely with production, test, and engineering teams to ensure each robot meets the performance, reliability, and quality standards expected from our client. This is a hands-on, technical position ideal for someone who enjoys solving problems, learning new systems, and working directly with cutting-edge robotic hardware.
Responsibilities
- Execute and support test operations for robotic systems, including system, component, and endurance testing.
- Build, debug, test, and repair robotic test systems in a production environment.
- Develop and refine test procedures, troubleshooting guides, and documentation.
- Perform root cause analysis on failures and communicate findings to engineering.
- Monitor long-duration system tests with strong focus, attention to detail, and timely escalation when needed.
- Set up and maintain test fixtures using mechanical tools and torque wrenches.
- Assist engineers with diagnostic activities, test procedure development, and execution of engineering test requests.
- Support implementation of Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on test equipment and maintain a well-organized lab environment.
- Lift and handle materials and components up to 50 pounds.
Basic Qualifications
- Formal training or education as an Electronics Technician, or equivalent hands-on technical experience.
- 3+ years in manufacturing, aerospace, automotive, military, or related technical environments.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly document and report technical findings.
- Ability to remain focused for extended periods while monitoring automated and long-running tests.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and troubleshoot to the component level.
- Proficiency with electronic test equipment such as digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, and signal generators.
- Experience using mechanical hand tools, torque wrenches, and test fixtures.
- Familiarity with Windows and/or Linux operating systems.
- High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently or in a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with robotic systems including sensors, actuators, and control systems.
- Experience with workflow or issue-tracking tools such as Jira or TestRail.
- Exposure to test automation or hardware-in-the-loop systems.
- Basic familiarity with CAD tools such as SolidWorks or CATIA.
The pay rate for this position is $35 per hour. This rate represents a good faith estimate of compensation at the time of posting.
