Role Description
Inside Sales Representative - Freight Forwarding & Cross-Border Logistics
Location: Laredo, TX
Key Accountabilities
- Prepare, process, and manage customer quotations across Intercom Logistics' full portfolio of services, including air freight, ocean freight, road transportation, cross-border logistics, warehousing, customs brokerage, and value-added logistics solutions.
- Analyze customer requirements and collaborate with Pricing, Operations, Customs Brokerage, Warehousing, and Carrier Procurement teams to develop accurate, competitive, and customized commercial proposals.
- Manage the complete quotation lifecycle, from RFQ receipt through pricing, proposal submission, negotiation support, follow-up, and conversion into awarded business.
- Proactively follow up on outstanding quotations, maintain regular communication with customers, address commercial inquiries, and identify opportunities to improve conversion rates.
- Coordinate commercial proposals involving multiple business units and decision-makers within customer organizations, ensuring alignment of pricing, scope of services, and implementation requirements.
- Maintain detailed records of quotations, customer interactions, and sales opportunities within the CRM system, ensuring accurate pipeline visibility and forecasting.
- Support the Outside Sales team by preparing pricing strategies, customer presentations, proposal documentation, and commercial analyses for new and existing accounts.
- Monitor market conditions, carrier pricing, and industry trends to develop competitive pricing strategies and identify opportunities for new business.
- Work closely with the Operations and Customer Service teams to ensure a seamless transition from quotation to implementation and ongoing customer support.
- Prepare regular reports on quotation activity, conversion ratios, pipeline status, and commercial performance for the Intercom USA Management Team.
- Report directly to the Intercom USA Management Team, providing visibility into active opportunities, pricing strategies, key customer developments, and business growth initiatives.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of quotation processes, pricing methodologies, and commercial best practices to enhance customer experience and increase sales effectiveness.
Qualifications
- At least 2 years of relevant and recent experience in Freight Forwarding and/or Customer Service
- Freight Forwarding experience is mandatory
- Organizational and time management skills to handle tasks
- Strong written/oral communication and organizational skills are required
- Experience with CARGOWISE is a plus
Pay: $23,000.00 - $30,000.00 per year
