Triage Nurse – ENT Practice
Full-Time | Monday–Thursday | Hinsdale, IL
Busy, patient-centered ENT practice seeking an experienced and compassionate Triage Nurse to join our team. This role is ideal for a nurse who enjoys patient communication, problem-solving, and coordinating care in a fast-paced outpatient setting.
The Triage Nurse serves as a key clinical resource for patients and providers by managing incoming patient concerns, coordinating follow-up care, and supporting clinical operations to ensure high-quality patient care.
Schedule
Monday – Thursday: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Position may work between our Hinsdale and La Grange locations as needed.
Responsibilities
- Perform telephone and electronic patient triage, assessing symptoms and determining appropriate next steps
- Respond to patient messages, questions, and concerns in a timely and professional manner
- Coordinate care with physicians and clinical staff
- Review and process prescription refill requests according to provider protocols
- Complete prior authorizations and assist with medication management
- Review lab results, imaging, and provider recommendations with patients as directed
- Coordinate referrals, testing, and follow-up appointments
- Provide patient education regarding medications, treatment plans, and post-procedure instructions
- Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Assist with occasional in-office clinical support as needed
Qualifications
- Current RN license in the state of Illinois required
- Prior outpatient triage or physician office experience preferred
- ENT, allergy, surgical, or specialty office experience preferred but not required
- Strong clinical judgment and communication skills
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with EMR systems preferred
