Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and identify their needs to recommend suitable gardening supplies, plants, and outdoor products.
- Assist with plant identification, floral arrangements, and landscape maintenance advice to enhance customer satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate stock levels through effective merchandising and inventory management.
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system efficiently for cashiering, cash handling, and retail math calculations.
- Provide expert guidance on lawn care, gardening techniques, and horticulture best practices to educate customers.
- Support store organization by stocking shelves, arranging displays, and ensuring the store environment is clean and inviting.
- Engage with customers in multiple languages when possible to create an inclusive shopping experience.
Qualifications
- Passion for gardening, floral design, lawn care, and landscape maintenance with a desire to share knowledge with others.
- Strong communication skills in English; multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse communities.
- Previous experience in retail sales or customer service is preferred but not required; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are essential.
- Basic familiarity with POS systems, cash handling procedures, and retail math concepts.
- Knowledge of plant identification, horticulture practices, floral arrangement techniques, and merchandising principles.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage stocking routines and maintain an orderly store environment.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting plants or supplies as needed.
