Position Summary
Arctic Cold Storage is seeking an experienced Controller to lead our accounting and financial functions. This is an in-person leadership role that works closely with ownership, Operations, Human Resources, and department leaders to support the financial health and continued growth of the company.
The Controller will oversee financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, compliance, tax and audit requirements, banking relationships, and the day-to-day accounting function while providing leadership to the Staff Accountant.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee monthly and quarterly financial statements and year-end review/audit.
- Manage the General Ledger and oversee the Staff Accountant.
- Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and budget-to-actual variance analysis.
- Oversee customer billing, invoicing, accounts receivable, and financial reporting.
- Manage insurance programs and renewals, including workers’ compensation.
- Assist with PFML and 401(k) administration and financial requirements.
- Oversee compliance related to permits, licenses, inventory counts, audits, and financial regulations.
- Oversee payroll tax filings and audit payroll accuracy; serve as backup for payroll.
- Audit sales tax and assist with tax planning and filings.
- Review and oversee vendor and customer contracts from a financial perspective.
- Manage financing needs and maintain strong banking relationships, including Compeer.
- Partner closely with Operations to understand the business and provide financial guidance for operational decisions.
- Maintain oversight of applicable financial and HR-related regulations and compliance requirements.
- Provide financial analysis, recommendations, and support to ownership and leadership.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting or financial management experience.
- Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
Pay: $100,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
