GDIT is seeking a enthusiastic and well skilled COMSEC Manager seeking to expand his/her experience in support of the Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) mission of the Airforce at Langley AFB, Va.
Serves as the AF DCGS Communications Security (COMSEC) Manager and Controlling Authority (ConAuth) for all cryptographic activities including managing the Cryptographic Access Program (CAP). Formulates and develops communications security criteria and requirements for inclusion in contingency, Emergency Action Plan (EAP), and exercise plans.
Maintains accountability for sensitive cryptographic materials and related COMSEC information
Requests COMSEC materials to support DOC operations. Maintains COMSEC inventory of all onsite and offsite gear associated with assigned sub-account
Investigates security incidents to determine the possibility of compromise to COMSEC materials and ensures documentation and reporting to appropriate channels
Performs destruction, receiving, issuing, and inspecting COMSEC material within the most stringent timelines
Assist the Government in the management the AF DCGS Communications Security (COMSEC) program
Conduct quarterly internal COMSEC Inspections
Review and prepare all COMSEC documentation in preparation for Base and MAJCOM inspections
Adhere to all applicable Air Force instructions to include AFMAN 17-1302-O and approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Ensure all COMSEC items are protected at all times from theft, compromise, or being lost
Provide initial and refresher training to all assigned personnel requiring access to COMSEC aids
Provide guidance on establishing CRO functions as they relate to Technical Operations
Perform the role of Controlling Authority for special purpose Keying Material (KEYMAT) within the Technical Operations program
Maintain COMSEC documentation for all KEYMAT, to include short titles, effective dates, and supersession dates
Coordinate with personnel who are responsible for loading KEYMAT to ensure cryptographic devices do not exceed supersession dates
Review the requirement, semi-annually, for COMSEC material, to assess its validity, and give the base COMSEC Manager a written list of required items including the short title, quantity, and an authority (i.e., plan, regulation, operation order, etc.) for each item
Perform staff assist visits as tasked by the Government
Preform self-inspections prior to semi-annual (6 month) inspections performed by the base COMSEC office
Participate in COMSEC inspections conducted by the local base COMSEC office and/or Command
Manage and maintain all hand receipts, both internal and external, and update hand receipts per COMSEC requirements
Take immediate corrective action in response to discrepancies identified during a command COMSEC functional review or a COMSEC manager semi-annual functional review
Serves as AF DCGS Secure Voice Responsible Officer (SVRO) for all Secure Terminal Equipment (STE) phones and associated cards
Maintains log of managed STE and cards which is inspected semi-annually by Base COMSEC Manager
Inventory all onsite and offsite STE associated with assigned account
Order new STE as required for secure voice capabilities. Order new KSV-21. Performs quarterly rekey of KSV-21
Conducts semi-annual inventory with offsite SVROs of all secure voice equipment loaned to distant sites
Returns encryption cards to Base COMSEC Manager when no longer needed. Coordinates shipment of STE in need of repair or replacement
Trains new users on proper use of secure lines and incident prevention
