Independent Living Skills Trainer
About the Role
My Life Services is hiring a compassionate and reliable Independent Living Skills(ILS) Trainer in Central Orange County (Santa Ana, Costa Mesa, Garden Grove, Westminster, Tustin, and Orange, etc. ).
As an ILS Trainer, you’ll provide personalized, one-on-one instruction to help clients build confidence and self-sufficiency in their daily lives. This includes guiding them through real-world activities at home and in the community — from cooking and budgeting to scheduling appointments and navigating transportation.
What You’ll Do
You’ll work one-on-one with clients, teaching and reinforcing skills such as:
- Cooking and meal preparation
- Grocery shopping and budgeting
- Scheduling and attending medical appointments
- Money management and financial literacy
- Transportation and community safety
Your support will help clients reach their personal goals and gain the tools they need to live more independently.

What We’re Looking For
- Experience in caregiving, education, behavioral support, or related fields
- Compassionate and patient, with strong communication skills
- Comfortable working independently and managing your own schedule
- Familiarity with supporting individuals with developmental disabilities or autism
- Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance
Schedule
- Flexible hours coordinated directly with clients
- Services take place in clients’ homes and community settings throughout South Orange County

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in home and community care, providing direct support to individuals with disabilities.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively teach essential independent living skills.
- Familiarity with supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and autism.
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques; experience in special education settings is a plus.
- Certification in caregiving or a related field is preferred but not required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour
