SeaDek, a Division of Patrick Industries is seeking a Machine Maintenance and Automation Technician who will play a vital role in ensuring our property is well maintained, machinery and equipment are running smoothly in our new location in Knoxville, Tennessee.
SeaDek is a revolutionary product utilized not only by the top boat builders in the marine industry, but also in aftermarket by boat owners seeking custom products. Made from closed cell PE/EVA foam, SeaDek products offer safe and comfortable alternatives to marine traction products currently on the market.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintains, in good safe working order, all production machines and equipment used in manufacturing of SeaDek products.
- Maintains records of scheduled maintenance and repairs on any production machine, truck, lift, or structure.
- Maintains a stock of commonly used replacement parts for the more critical machines.
- Orders parts and keeps a parts list for machines and machinery.
- Sets up, operates machines and adjusts controls for operation.
- Runs and observes mechanical operation to detect problems.
- Inspects and/or tests damaged machine parts and marks defective areas or advises supervisor of needed repairs.
- Lubricates or applies adhesives or other materials to machine parts, or other equipment, according to specified procedures.
- Performs routine machine maintenance tasks as requested by supervisor.

Education and Experience
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Formal training from trade school or military qualifications. Minimum four years industrial maintenance experience or equivalent. Familiar with machine shop equipment, Mills-Lathes-Grinders.
- Competent welding with mig/tig welders. Competent with digital multimeters using AC/DC voltages. 12/24/120/208/240/480.
- Familiar with variable frequency drives. Familiar with programmable logic controllers-relays-timers.
- Must be able to read fabrication prints/sketches.
- Must be proficient with reading electrical schematics.
Work Environment
- Standing for extended periods.
- Ability to stoop, kneel and crouch.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times.
