Love animals? Looking for a rewarding weekend job where you can make a difference in the lives of dogs and cats? Humane Society of the Lakes is seeking a caring, dependable, and energetic animal lover to join our team as a Weekend Shelter Attendant.
This position is perfect for someone who wants meaningful weekend work while helping homeless pets receive the care, attention, and love they deserve.
What You'll Be Doing
- Provide daily care and attention to shelter dogs and cats
- Clean kennels, cages, litter boxes, and common areas
- Feed animals and ensure fresh water is always available
- Exercise and socialize dogs through walks and playtime
- Provide enrichment activities to improve animal well-being
- Monitor animal health and behavior and report concerns
- Assist visitors and potential adopters in a friendly, professional manner
- Support adoption events and weekend shelter operations
- Work closely with fellow team members to maintain a safe and welcoming environment
What We're Looking For
- Passion for animal welfare and pet care
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
- Comfortable lifting up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, and perform physical tasks throughout the shift
- Comfortable handling animals of various sizes and temperaments
- Previous animal care experience is a plus, but training is provided
- Must be 18 years of age or older
Schedule
Weekend Availability Required
- Saturday and Sunday shifts 1:30pm to 8 pm or 2:30pm to 8 pm
- Every other holiday required.

Starting at $14.00 per hour
