Our offerings also encompass robot welding, beveling, CNC machining, press forming, and plate rolling.
We are currently seeking a Laser Team Leader who will play a crucial role in supporting our Manufacturing and Logistics departments, as well as the Weld/Fabrication Team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing and monitoring company policies and procedures, promoting the 5S program, and engaging in activities related to company metrics.
WHAT WILL THE RIGHT PERSON LOOK LIKE?
You, as the Laser Team Leader will be able to oversee daily operations, manage team performance evaluations, and control operational costs to enhance efficiency. Responsibilities will include scheduling production and shipping tasks to meet daily, weekly, and monthly targets.
WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?
The Laser Cut Team Lead will monitor material usage, nesting efficiency, drop utilization, and scrap generation within the Laser Cut area. The Team Lead will investigate causes of excessive scrap, incorrect cuts, material handling damage, and rework, and will coordinate corrective actions with operators, programming, quality, maintenance, and supervision as needed. Immediate action will be taken when material returns, nonconforming parts, or repeat defects occur. Scrap reduction and material control activities should support MMFI company metrics and continuous improvement goals.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Blueprint reading and understanding of laser cut part requirements, tolerances, material types, and revision control
- Knowledge of laser cutting operations, setup support, machine readiness checks, consumable condition, assist gas requirements, and basic troubleshooting escalation
- Ability to coordinate with programming, quality, maintenance, material handlers, and downstream departments to maintain production

- Ability to lift 45 lbs
- Requires standing on feet for long periods, walking the production floor, stooping, stretching, bending, twisting, and working around sheet metal, laser cutting equipment, and material handling activity
- May be required to become Forklift or Crane certified
- May be required to use proper PPE for Laser Cut area hazards, including cut-resistant gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, and other required protection based on task requirements

Pay: $25.50 - $28.00 per hour
