Senior Accountant
Houston, TX – Onsite
6-Month Contract-to-Hire
$45-50/Hour DOE
Our client is looking for a Senior Accountant to join their Global Business Services (GBS) organization — a high-volume, transactional finance function that supports the company’s accounting operations at enterprise scale. This individual will handle complex transactional accounting, controls, and process improvement across a global operating environment that processes millions of transactions annually. As part of the Elevate program, you will also receive customized technical training to accelerate your ramp-up and long-term growth within the organization!
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and review high-volume transactional accounting activity within one or more functional areas (fixed assets, business process, cash application, leases/royalties, etc.)
- Research and resolve transactional discrepancies, working cross-functionally with other finance and business teams as needed
- Support month-end close activities as needed
- Maintain and reconcile assigned accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness across a large volume of activity
- Identify opportunities to improve existing processes, controls, and workflows — process improvement is one of the primary ways a Senior Accountant adds value on this team
- Document and help implement process changes, partnering with team leadership to scale improvements across the function
- Support internal and external audit requests related to assigned areas
- Leverage enterprise systems and tools (e.g., SAP, Excel, Power BI, and other reporting/automation tools) to manage volume efficiently and surface insights
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required (Accounting strongly preferred)
- Approximately 4–5 years of professional accounting experience
- Experience with high-volume, transactional accounting environments preferred
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
- A continuous-improvement mindset — comfortable questioning existing process and proposing better ways of working
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage competing deadlines
- Proficiency in Excel; knowledge of SAP is a plus

Pay: $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
