The Concrete Form Builder/Setter, Structures will be responsible for constructing built in place or prefabricated wooden forms for molding concrete structures associated with, but not limited to, the construction of highways, roadways, bridges, and culverts.
Essential Functions for Concrete Form Builder/Setter, Structures:
- Read and understand blueprints, diagrams, and specifications to determine type and dimensions of forms to be constructed.
- Safely sawing and nailing of lumber together, to blueprint dimensions, to create form panels, stakes, bracing, and other form related items.
- Erect build-in-place forms, or assemble and install prefabricated forms, on construction site according to blueprints using task required hand tools and equipment.
- Insert spreaders and tie rods between opposite faces of form to maintain specified dimensions.
- Anchor and brace forms to fixed object using nails, bolts, anchor rods, steel cables, planks, and timbers.
- Assist with the placement, finishing, rubbing, and patching of placed concrete.
- Comply with all company safety procedures and policies while embracing a safety culture and mindset.
- Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
Concrete Form Builder/Setter, Structures Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED (Preferred)
- Ability to read and comprehend project blueprints, diagrams, and specifications.
- At least 2 years’ experience in heavy civil construction to include, but not limited to, concrete structures such as bridges, cast-in-place culverts, and retaining walls.
- Ability and willingness to travel as required.
- Must be able to pass E-Verify and pre-employment drug test.
- Must have reliable transportation to get to and from the assigned jobsite daily.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work outdoors, exposed to heat and humidity, cold and rain, and around heavy traffic areas.
- Physically capable of completing assigned tasks and moving about from one worksite to another.
- Ability to safely operate required hand and power tools and equipment.
- Constantly perform repetitive motions that may include feet, leg, wrists, hands and/or fingers
- Work that includes moving and/or lifting objects up to 50 pounds, carry at least 30 pounds and up to 150 pounds with help.
- Ability to frequently walk on uneven surfaces, including natural ground in varying weather conditions.
