Responsibilities
- Prepare and assemble a variety of menu items according to standardized recipes and quality standards, ensuring consistency and excellence in every dish
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including grills and fryers.
- Assist with food safety sanitizing procedures to maintain a clean and hygienic work environment in compliance with health regulations
- Support menu planning efforts by preparing ingredients and assisting in the development of new recipes aligned with culinary standards
- Handle food production tasks such as food handling, food preparation, and meal assembly for high-volume service periods
- Execute cooking techniques including grilling, frying, steaming and other techniques to produce flavorful dishes
- Maintain proper knife skills for precise food prep and ensure adherence to recipe specifications for consistent quality
- Collaborate with team members to meet dietary needs and accommodate special requests within the dietary department or catering services
Qualifications
- Prior dietary aide or food service experience preferred; experience in fine dining or restaurant environments is a plus
- Strong knowledge of food safety management practices and sanitizing procedures
- Demonstrated proficiency in food handling, cooking techniques, and operating various kitchen equipment
- Experience with menu planning, recipe adherence, and meal preparation in high-volume production settings
- Familiarity with dietary department operations or catering services is advantageous
- Excellent knife skills and understanding of food industry standards for quality and safety
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail and safety standards
