American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 2+ years of experience for a night shift inpatient acute care position at a large academic teaching hospital in Oregon.

Inpatient acute care hospital respiratory therapy department providing a full spectrum of respiratory care services
-
Work settings include Adult Critical Care, Emergency Department, NICU, Pediatric Critical Care, and Pediatrics
-
Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (18:45–07:15)

Floating within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital may be required; refusal to float as requested may result in contract cancellation

Epic EMR used; experience required

No on-call requirement

13-week contract

Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience required

Active RRT credential required
-
BLS (AHA Traditional) required — RQI not accepted

Active OR state license required; pending OR license may be acceptable if applied for promptly — license required if applicable

Epic EMR experience required

Teaching hospital experience preferred

Proficiency with ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, weaning from mechanical ventilation, and high-pressure alarm troubleshooting

Experience with airway management, tracheostomy care, bronchoscopy, HFNC, and ABG interpretation

NICU/PICU and pediatrics float experience
-
COVID vaccination required; no exemptions accepted

Two manager or supervisor references from within the last 24 months required (charge RN references not acceptable)

Full DOB and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration

Work history covering the last 7 years — including city, state, dates of employment, and PTO periods — required for consideration

First-time travelers are accepted for this position

Local candidates are accepted at the same rate; no radius restriction

RTO must be disclosed upfront and may not exceed 5 days (2 weeks maximum) for the 13-week contract

Candidates who are former employees or previous travelers at this facility must provide a reference from the supervising manager at that facility

Candidates who have worked at this facility must have been gone for at least 6 months before returning as a traveler

Pre-start orientation modules are required and average approximately 2.25 hours for non-RN roles; modules are non-billable
-
A Relias exam score of 85% or higher is required

AHA Traditional BLS/ACLS certifications required; RQI not accepted

This facility conducts a comprehensive, lifetime background review using an advanced reporting system; no background or license issues will be accepted
