Position Overview
We're looking for an enthusiastic, people-loving (and pet-loving) Manager to oversee our Diamond Springs Doggie Daycare facility. You'll lead a team of dedicated employees, ensure every pet receives exceptional care, and drive the overall success of the facility through strong leadership, operational excellence, and outstanding customer service.
What You'll Do (AKA Your Paw-some Responsibilities)
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the facility, ensuring exceptional care for pets and outstanding service for clients.
- Recruit, train, coach, and develop team members while fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and exceptional customer service.
- Monitor occupancy, labor costs, customer satisfaction, revenue goals, staffing, scheduling, and overall facility performance to ensure the continued success of the facility.
- Ensure all company policies, safety procedures, and animal care standards are consistently followed.
- Partner with company leadership to drive occupancy, increase customer retention, and support local marketing initiatives.
- Lead by example by actively supporting daily operations and assisting the team as needed.
- Create and refine operating procedures that promote efficiency, consistency, and high-quality service.
- Ensure all team members receive ongoing training and development to maintain high standards of care, safety, and customer service.
- Monitor departmental budgets and recommend pricing or operational adjustments when appropriate.
- Handle client concerns and service issues professionally and effectively.
- Set goals, track progress, and help your team achieve success.
- Prioritize tasks, delegate effectively, and maintain a well-organized operation.
- Ensure supplies and equipment are adequately stocked, maintained, and available when needed.
- Be available to provide facility support during weekends, holidays, and other peak business periods.
- Take on special projects and additional management responsibilities as needed. No two days are the same!
What We're Looking For in Our New Team Leader
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with both people and pets.
- 2+ years of leadership or management experience required.
- Previous experience in pet care, animal services, retail management, hospitality management, childcare management, or a similar customer-focused environment preferred.
- Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- A self-starter with a strong attention to detail and a willingness to jump in where needed.
- Proven leadership and training abilities that bring out the best in a team.
- Ability to work independently while also fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Flexible, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced setting.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and safely interact with dogs of all sizes and temperaments.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and occasional evenings, based on business needs.
