Overview
Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist, where you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and ensuring smooth clinical operations. You will be responsible for performing phlebotomy, assisting with patient examinations, managing medical records, and supporting various medical procedures across outpatient and inpatient settings. Duties
- Collect blood samples and perform venipuncture with precision and care, ensuring patient comfort and sample integrity
- Assist healthcare providers during examinations, treatments, and minor procedures across specialties such as dermatology, urgent care, and hospital medicine
- Take and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates accurately
- Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems), ensuring all patient documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with privacy standards
- Support patient intake processes by verifying insurance information, updating medical histories, and explaining procedures clearly
- Prepare exam rooms by sterilizing equipment and ensuring all necessary supplies are available for efficient workflow
- Provide excellent patient service by addressing questions, offering reassurance, and maintaining a compassionate demeanor throughout each visit
Requirements
- Proven experience in medical office settings with knowledge of medical terminology and documentation practices
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or equivalent to ensure readiness for emergency situations
- Skilled in phlebotomy techniques with demonstrated proficiency in blood draws and specimen handling
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for accurate recordkeeping and data entry
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, ICD coding, and medication administration protocols
- Experience working in clinics or hospital environments
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills to provide clear instructions and compassionate patient interactions
- Must be willing to travel to Orlando and Tampa, occasionally
- Bilingual is a preferred but not required
