Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Auto Body Technician/Painter to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for restoring vehicles to their original condition through expert body repair and painting techniques. Duties
- Perform collision repairs, including dent removal, sheet metal work, and structural alignment using specialized tools and techniques.
- Utilize MIG welding, automotive welding equipment, soldering, and fabrication repair techniques to restore damaged vehicle parts.
- Conduct auto painting using airless paint spraying equipment, sanding tools, and finishing techniques to achieve a flawless surface finish.
- Repair or replace auto glass, trim, and other vehicle components with precision and care.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and heavy lifting equipment to disassemble, assemble, and reassemble vehicle parts during repairs.
- Apply auto restoration methods to bring vintage or damaged vehicles back to showroom condition.
- Perform detailing work to ensure vehicles are clean, polished, and presentable after repairs.
- Maintain mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems for troubleshooting and performing minor repairs as needed.
- Follow safety protocols during all repair processes to ensure a safe working environment.
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding repair estimates and progress using auto estimating skills.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working as an automotive body technician or in a similar auto repair role; dealership experience is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in MIG welding, welding repair, soldering, fabrication repair techniques, and automotive welding equipment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems and auto maintenance procedures.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, sanding tools, heavy lifting equipment, and auto painting tools such as airless paint sprayers.
- Experience with auto glass replacement and auto restoration projects is advantageous.
- Ability to perform auto body repairs involving sheet metal work and fabrication techniques accurately.
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality craftsmanship in auto painting and detailing tasks.
- Good customer service skills with the ability to explain repairs clearly to clients.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
