Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Charge Nurse to join its leadership team in a fast-paced rural healthcare environment. This role requires a clinically strong RN with leadership abilities and experience in Med/Surg and Emergency Room settings.
Position Summary
The Charge Nurse is responsible for overseeing nursing operations during assigned shifts while ensuring safe, high-quality patient care. This role combines clinical expertise, staff supervision, leadership, communication, and operational coordination to support both patients and nursing staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support nursing staff during assigned shifts
- Coordinate patient care delivery and staffing operations
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies and nursing standards
- Act as a clinical resource and mentor for staff
- Promote teamwork, accountability, and patient safety
- Assist with conflict resolution and workflow management
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams
- Support Med/Surg and Emergency Department patient care as needed
Requirements
- Active Washington RN License required
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
- Previous Charge Nurse experience preferred
- Med/Surg and Emergency Room experience required
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- COVID-19 vaccination proof required
EMR & Facility Details
- EMR System: CPSI/Evident
- Rural critical access hospital setting
- Strong leadership and independent decision-making skills required
