The Town of Breckenridge Finance Department is seeking a dedicated, customer service oriented individual for the position of Auditor. The individual in this position performs advanced professional work related to municipal tax collection, enforcement, and licensing compliance, and may also conduct internal audits for Town departments. The Auditor ensures accurate documentation, reporting, and remittance of taxes and fees; investigates potential noncompliance; conducts onsite and remote audits; and provides guidance to taxpayers, businesses, and internal stakeholders regarding Town tax and licensing codes. This position supports equitable enforcement, fiscal responsibility, and business community outreach. Extensive public interaction is required, and the incumbent represents the Town to taxpayers, Town Management, Town Council, and other stakeholders.

MINIMUM & DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

A Bachelor’s degree with a focus on accounting, taxation, or law required.

Three (3) or more years of customer service experience required.

One (1) or more years of experience working in a professional office environment required.

Previous accounting and/or compliance experience preferred.
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES

Valid Colorado Driver's License required within 30 days of hire.

Professional certification (CIA, CFE, or CPA) preferred.

Must pass a criminal background check prior to employment.
Hiring Range: $2,440.00 - $2,899.81 bi-weekly, $63,440.00 - $75,395.00 if annualized.
Full Pay Range: $2,440.00 - $3,359.62 bi-weekly, $63,440.00 - $87,350.00 if annualized.
WORK SCHEDULE:
The typical work schedule for this position is in-office Monday-Thursday 8a-5p, Fridays 8a-12p.
