Sunset Design & Build is a fast-growing, high-touch residential remodeling firm serving San Diego homeowners with premium interior remodels (kitchens, bathrooms, and full-home projects). We're known for our transparency, design-forward approach, and smooth project execution, with a strong emphasis on communication and client satisfaction.
We're looking for a proactive, detail-driven Project Manager to own day-to-day production and take client experience to the next level.
What You'll Do
- Manage all day-to-day aspects of interior remodeling projects from contract to final walk-through
- Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to keep timelines and quality standards on track
- Navigate the permitting process: track applications, schedule city inspections, verify the work is inspection-ready, and handle corrections
- Conduct regular job site visits for progress tracking, quality control, and client communication
- Keep clients in permitting or pre-construction informed on where their project stands, even during weeks when nothing happens on site
- Flag and resolve jobsite issues promptly, including material delays, scope conflicts, or sub delays
- Interpret and implement plans, scopes of work, and material selections accurately
- Maintain consistent client communication via text, WhatsApp, email, and site meetings
- Track milestone completion and coordinate with our office team for timely billing
- Oversee daily and weekly task progress in our Slack-based project management system
- Help refine and improve project delivery systems as we grow
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of project management experience in residential remodeling, specifically kitchens and bathrooms (design-build experience a plus)
- Strong command of residential construction phases and sequencing, from demo through final inspection
- Real experience with permitted work in San Diego: applications, inspections, corrections
- Clear communicator with the ability to de-escalate issues and keep clients confident and informed
- Tech-friendly: our projects run on Slack task lists and our back office is AI-assisted (we'll train you on our systems)
- Organized and dependable, someone who keeps track of details and anticipates issues before they happen
- Comfortable reviewing scopes, plans, and finish material lists
- Able to juggle multiple projects at various stages
- Reliable vehicle and valid driver's license (mileage reimbursed for site visits)

Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
