Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Aluminum MIG Welder/Fitter to join our dynamic team in Alexandria, AL. The right candidate will have experience in welding and fabrication, aluminum welding is a must, and steel is a plus, particularly with sheet metal. This role requires a strong understanding of blueprints and work instructions, as well as the ability to work with various welding equipment and tools. Duties
- Consistently work in a safe manner following all PPE requirements.
- MIG (GMAW) welding, aluminum and steel, sheet metal – weld test for aluminum and steel is required.
- Ensure compliance with industry codes and standards during all welding processes.
- Inspect welds for quality and accuracy.
- Utilize cranes for the safe movement of heavy materials and components.
- Utilize measuring tools such as tape measures and calipers to ensure precision in all tasks.
- Utilize basic shop and welding tools, powered and hand tools.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols.
- Other responsibilities as required for production.
Requirements
- 2 year proven experience (3+ years preferred) as a MIG welder/fitter, or similar role in fabrication environment.
- Aluminum and steel MIG welding experience (Aluminum welding is REQUIRED)
- Strong attention to detail and workmanship.
- Ability to lift heavy material and stand for extended periods during shifts.
- Be mechanically minded.
- Basic math and excellent problem-solving skills.
- A good work ethic is a must.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Formal welding training/certification is preferred but not mandatory
Job Type & Location
- This is a full-time direct hire position located onsite in Alexandria, AL
- First shift. Currently 5 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. M-TH with overtime possible on Fridays, or Second shift, currently 3:30 p.m. - 2:00 a.m.
