Director of Pulmonary Services
Local Rate: $95/hr
Travel Rate: $110/hr
Location: Cambridge, MA
Contract Length: 13 Weeks (Potential for Extension)
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8-hour Day Shifts | 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM)
Note: Please ensure the candidate is agreeable to a Monday–Friday day schedule and understands the assignment may extend beyond 13 weeks.
Required Qualifications
- Previous Management/Director-level experience is required.
- Graduate of an Accredited School of Respiratory Care.
- Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Current Massachusetts Respiratory Care License.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification.
- BLS and ACLS certifications (required at submission).
- NRP certification preferred.

Strong experience in:
- Acute Care
- Critical Care
- Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT)
- Blood Gas Laboratory
- Sleep Lab / Polysomnography
- Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation
- EEG Services
- Blood Gas Accreditation
- Neonatal Respiratory Care (preferred)
Additional Requirements
- Must be able to travel between Cambridge, Everett, and Somerville campuses as needed.
Position Summary
The Director of Pulmonary Services is responsible for planning, directing, and managing all Pulmonary Services across the hospital system, including:
- Respiratory Care
- Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT) Lab
- Blood Gas Lab
- Sleep Lab
- Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation
This leadership role oversees the delivery of high-quality respiratory care for patients of all age groups while ensuring regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, staff leadership, quality improvement initiatives, and exceptional patient care across multiple hospital campuses.
Department Overview
Pulmonary Services operates under the medical direction of the Pulmonary Department and provides comprehensive respiratory care across Cambridge Health Alliance's Cambridge, Everett, and Somerville campuses. The department offers services including:
- Medical gas administration
- Arterial blood gas analysis
- Airway management
- Pulmonary function testing
- Inpatient and outpatient respiratory care

Pay: $95.00 - $110.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
