Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Houseman to join our hospitality team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, sanitation, and overall appearance of guest areas and public spaces. Responsibilities
- Perform floor cleaning and floor care using appropriate equipment and chemical agents to ensure spotless surfaces in guest rooms, hallways, and public areas
- Handle cleaning tasks efficiently, including vacuuming, dusting, mopping, and sanitizing surfaces to uphold high standards of cleanliness and sanitation
- Manage chemical handling safely by following safety data sheets (SDS) guidelines and hotel protocols for storing, mixing, and disposing of cleaning agents
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks such as moving furniture or equipment to support housekeeping operations and maintain a tidy environment
- Support hotel housekeeping management by ensuring all guest areas meet cleanliness standards and are well-maintained throughout the day
- Follow hotel emergency procedures promptly in case of incidents or safety concerns, ensuring guest safety at all times
- Maintain cleaning equipment in good working condition and report any malfunctions or safety hazards immediately
Skills
- Proven experience in janitorial or custodial roles within hospitality or hotel environments
- Strong knowledge of floor cleaning techniques, sanitation practices, and chemical agent handling
- Ability to operate various cleaning equipment such as vacuums, buffers, and floor scrubbers effectively
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude towards guests and team members
- Familiarity with hotel housekeeping management procedures and safety protocols including safety data sheets (SDS)
- Physical stamina for manual handling tasks including heavy lifting and prolonged standing or walking
- Knowledge of hotel emergency procedures to respond swiftly in urgent situations
