Test Technician
We are looking for a Test Technician to join our Lansing, NY site.
The Test Tech performs a variety of tasks related to the testing of raw materials, manufactured products or manufacturing processes. Perform equipment calibration & testing and testing & program inspections.
Location: Lansing, NY
Hourly Rate: $19-$22/hour

Your Challenge
- Prepare and condition nonmetallic samples for mechanical testing.

Operate mechanical testing equipment such as universal testing machines, DMA analyzers, and hardness testers.

Perform routine and specialized tests including: Tensile and elongation testing, Hardness testing (Shore, Rockwell), Compression testing, and Shear and flexural testing

Record and analyze test data accurately using lab software and spreadsheets.

Maintain a clean and organized lab environment, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.

Calibrate and troubleshoot testing equipment as needed.

Collaborate with engineers and senior technicians to support custom testing plans.

Assist in preparing technical reports and documentation for clients.
What You Bring
- Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Materials Science, or related field preferred.

2-5 years of experience in a mechanical testing or laboratory environment.

Familiarity with mechanical testing standards (ASTM, ISO) is a plus.

Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures precisely.

Basic understanding of polymers, composites, and nonmetallic materials.

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and data entry systems.

Ability to lift and handle materials and equipment (up to 50 lbs).

Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
