Responsibilities
- Perform pet grooming services including bathing, brushing, hair trimming, and styling to meet client specifications and breed standards
- Handle animals safely and compassionately during grooming procedures, ensuring proper restraint and comfort
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of grooming tools, stations, and facilities to uphold health standards
- Communicate effectively with pet owners to understand grooming preferences and provide professional advice on pet coat care
- Assist with pet handling tasks such as nail trimming, ear cleaning, and coat maintenance while ensuring animal safety
- Support veterinary or veterinary technician staff with animal handling or care tasks as needed
- Manage heavy lifting of pets or supplies when necessary to ensure smooth workflow
Experience
- Prior experience in pet grooming or animal handling is highly preferred
- Background in veterinary technician or veterinary assistant roles demonstrates valuable animal care knowledge
- Experience with dog training, dog handling, or equine care adds valuable skills to the role
- Familiarity with kennel operations, pet sitting, or animal restraint techniques is advantageous
- Strong communication skills for engaging with pet owners and team members effectively
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and comfortably during daily tasks
- Knowledge of pet coat styling, pet nail trimming, and general animal care practices is essential
