Our client is looking for an Assembly Technician to join a team focused on the precision assembly and testing of high-frequency RF microwave cables and connectors within a manufacturing environment. In this role, you will be responsible for building, inspecting, and testing complex cable assemblies, performing soldering—especially cable/connector soldering—and conducting various in-process inspections to ensure product quality. You’ll set up and operate equipment, tools, and fixtures to prepare cable components according to detailed specifications, while supporting quality assurance through root cause analysis and thorough documentation of all processes and results.
This position requires hands-on experience in electro-mechanical assembly, soldering skills (with bonus certification like J-STD), and the ability to work with technical drawings and test equipment. You need to be detail-oriented, with strong record-keeping skills, and familiar with working with small, precise components. The work environment may include operating semi-automated tools and fixtures, and candidates should be comfortable lifting up to 50 pounds and able to work OT on weekends if necessary.
Required Skills, Education, and Experience:
- 1+ years of RF-related and/or mechanical assembly experience
- Basic math skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience soldering cables, connectors, and miniature components
- Strong computer skills for accessing documentation and operating specific programs
- Ability to work from product drawings and written/verbal instructions
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Ability to support quality inspections and record-keeping requirements
- Experience with electrical and mechanical test equipment
