We are seeking a hardworking, and customer-oriented Service Technician to join our Rugsies team. In this role, you will be responsible for traveling to residential and commercial sites, assessing flooring needs, performing deep-cleaning and maintenance techniques, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate possesses a strong knowledge of cleaning chemicals, operates specialized equipment (like truck-mounts and hot water extractors), and is committed to extending the lifespan of our clients' carpets and upholstery.
Duties:
- Meet with clients upon arrival at their home or business to discuss their specific cleaning and maintenance needs.
- Conduct pre-inspections of carpets and fabrics to identify stains, fiber types, and signs of wear.
- Provide recommendations for ongoing carpet care and maintenance to help clients extend the life of their flooring.
- Operate industrial-grade carpet cleaning equipment safely, including hot water extraction, steam cleaners, and rotary machines.
- Prepare and apply pre-cleaning treatments, stain removers, and deodorizers to carpets and upholstery.
- Utilize both machine and hand-washing techniques to ensure deep soil removal.
- Groom carpets and use drying machines to ensure floors are left in pristine, usable conditions.
- Assist with other hard-surface or upholstery maintenance tasks (e.g., tile, grout, or hardwood cleaning) as dictated by daily schedules.
- Load, unload, and safely secure heavy cleaning equipment and chemicals in company work vehicles.
- Perform routine maintenance and basic safety checks on all specialized tools to ensure optimal performance.
- Keep work vehicles and assigned equipment organized, clean, and properly stocked.
- Move or cover client furniture to access all areas that require cleaning, and reset the room once the job is complete.
- Document job progress with before and after photos and complete necessary service paperwork.
Skills:
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: 1+ years of experience in carpet cleaning, floor care, or related commercial janitorial services.
- Physical Demands: Ability to regularly lift/carry up to 50–80 lbs, and stand, bend, kneel, or crouch for extended periods.
- Licensing: Valid driver's license with the ability to pass a MVR check.
