Responsibilities
- Operate commercial dishwashing equipment safely and efficiently, ensuring all dishes, glassware, utensils, and cookware are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized according to food safety procedures.
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks as needed, supporting chefs and kitchen staff in maintaining smooth operations.
- Maintain cleanliness of the dishwashing area, including counters, sinks, and storage spaces, adhering strictly to sanitation standards.
- Support with bussing tables by clearing dishes promptly and assisting in organizing clean items for reuse or storage.
- Follow proper manual handling techniques when lifting heavy pots, trays, or boxes to prevent injury.
- Ensure compliance with all food safety management protocols and kitchen health and safety standards at all times.
- Assist in operating kitchen equipment such as dishwashers, sinks, and other small appliances while maintaining proper safety procedures.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred but not required; enthusiasm to learn is essential!
- Knowledge of food safety sanitizing procedures and sanitation standards within a commercial kitchen setting.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely, including heavy lifting and standing for extended periods.
- Basic understanding of kitchen equipment operation and maintenance.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on cleanliness and hygiene.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
