The Estimator is responsible for assisting in the generation of estimates and new business opportunities in assigned markets.
Essential Functions

Assists with quotes generation

Prepares and submits shop/structural drawings

Computes various cost factors

Reviews data to determine material and labor requirements

Ensures accuracy of all information

Solicits suppliers and subcontractors

Develops beneficial business relationships

Develops good working relationships with suppliers and subcontractors

Develops a network and contacts within the community

Performs day-to-day estimating tasks
-
Generates quantity take-off
-
Prepares purchase orders and rough draft subcontractor agreements

Prepares sub-supplier lists
-
Communicates with internal/external customers
-
Answers inquiries via phone, email or in-person
-
Provides highest levels of customer service

Makes presentations to large and small groups
-
Translates technical information into easily understood language
-
Promotes and maintains safe work environment

Exhibits safe work behaviors

Wears all prescribed PPE

Education Qualifications

Required Bachelor's Degree in Construction Technology, Construction Management or related field preferred
Experience Qualifications

Required 1+ years experience in asphalt paving/bridge construction or related industry
