Position Summary
Champion Integrated Building Solutions (CIBS) is seeking a Project Manager I to oversee assigned projects from customer handoff through final project closeout. This role is responsible for coordinating cross-functional teams, maintaining customer relationships, managing project schedules, and ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards and contractual requirements.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, customer-focused, and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while balancing multiple priorities and delivering exceptional service.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
· Manage assigned projects through all phases of the project lifecycle, including planning, execution, delivery, and closeout.
· Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, providing timely communication and regular project updates.
· Develop, maintain, and communicate project schedules, milestones, and deliverables.
· Coordinate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, Logistics, and other internal teams to ensure successful project execution.
· Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement solutions to minimize schedule or cost impacts.
· Review project documentation, specifications, drawings, and customer requirements to ensure project accuracy.
· Manage project scope and communicate changes that may affect timelines, costs, or deliverables.
· Track project costs and assist in maintaining project budgets.
· Facilitate project meetings, document action items, and ensure timely follow-up on outstanding tasks.
· Maintain accurate project files, reports, and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
· Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, quality requirements, and customer expectations.
· Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to improve project execution and internal processes.
· Build and maintain positive working relationships with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
· Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field preferred.
· Two to five years of project management, project coordination, manufacturing, construction, or related industry experience.
· Experience managing customer-facing projects is preferred.
· Experience within modular construction, manufacturing, industrial, or fabrication environments is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
· Strong understanding of project management principles and project lifecycles.
· Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-first mindset.
· Ability to identify issues, evaluate options, and implement effective solutions.
· Ability to read and interpret contracts, specifications, engineering drawings, and project documentation.
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
· Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across multiple departments.
Technical Skills
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint.
· Experience using Microsoft Project or other project management software preferred.
· Experience working with ERP systems in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
Preferred Certifications
· Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)
· Project Management Professional (PMP)
Working Conditions
This position is based at Champion Integrated Building Solutions' Humble, Texas facility and requires regular interaction with office personnel and manufacturing operations. Occasional visits to production areas are required to support project execution, monitor progress, and collaborate with operational teams.
Physical Requirements
· Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
· Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
· Ability to access manufacturing and warehouse environments while wearing required personal protective equipment when necessary.
· Ability to use standard office equipment, including computers and mobile communication devices.
