Job Summary
Big G Electric & Engineering, LLC, a subsidiary of Koniag Energy & Water (KEW), is seeking a Project Safety Coordinator for a large-scale data center construction project in Abilene, Texas. This position will support project operations by promoting a proactive safety culture, ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, local, and customer safety requirements, and assisting field leadership in maintaining a safe and productive work environment.
The Project Safety Coordinator serves as a visible safety presence on the jobsite, partnering with project teams, subcontractors, and client representatives to identify hazards, conduct inspections, support incident prevention efforts, and ensure compliance with Company safety programs. This is a project-based position anticipated to last approximately 8-12 months.

- Promote and support a positive safety culture consistent with Big G Electric and KEW values.
- Conduct routine jobsite safety inspections and document findings, corrective actions, and follow-up activities.
- Assist with implementation and enforcement of project-specific safety plans, customer requirements, and Company safety policies.
- Participate in daily pre-task planning meetings, job hazard analyses (JHAs), toolbox talks, and safety briefings.
- Monitor field activities for compliance with OSHA regulations and Company safety standards.
- Identify hazards and recommend corrective measures to project leadership.
- Assist in investigating incidents, injuries, near misses, property damage events, and safety concerns.
- Prepare incident documentation and maintain required project safety records and reports.
- Monitor subcontractor activities and support compliance with site safety requirements.
- Facilitate safety orientation and onboarding activities for new employees and visitors.
- Track training certifications, qualifications, and required safety documentation.
- Assist with emergency response planning, drills, and site preparedness activities.
- Conduct safety observations and behavioral-based safety assessments.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of OSHA requirements, customer standards, and industry best practices.
- Serve as a liaison between project management, field personnel, client representatives, and corporate safety leadership regarding safety-related matters.
- Support continual improvement initiatives designed to reduce incidents and improve overall project safety performance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Three (3) years of construction, industrial, electrical, or safety-related experience.
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification.
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety practices.
- Experience conducting field inspections, safety audits, and incident investigations.
- Ability to interpret and apply safety policies, procedures, and customer requirements.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and Teams.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to pass all pre-employment and client-required screenings.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Construction Management, Industrial Technology, or related field.
- CHST (Construction Health and Safety Technician), OHST, ASP, CSP, or equivalent certification.
- Experience supporting data center, mission-critical, industrial, power generation, utility, or large commercial construction projects.
- Experience working with electrical contractors and energized work safety programs.
- Current First Aid, CPR, and AED certification.
- Knowledge of NFPA 70E and electrical safety requirements.
- Experience working on projects with multiple subcontractors and strict client safety expectations.
