Maintenance Assistant
Location: Romeoville, IL
Pay: $20.00–$26.00 per hour
Schedule: Full-Time
Available Shifts:
- 1st Shift: Tuesday–Friday | 5:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- 2nd Shift: Monday–Thursday | 4:00 PM – 2:30 AM
- Weekend Shift: Saturday & Sunday | 5:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Position Overview:
Join a state-of-the-art, 680,000 sq. ft. e-commerce distribution center supporting one of the nation's leading home furnishings retailers. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start or grow a career in industrial maintenance and automation. You'll work alongside experienced Maintenance and Automation Technicians, learning to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair conveyor systems and automated material handling equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with preventive maintenance on conveyors and automated equipment.
- Learn to troubleshoot mechanical and basic electrical issues.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Support repairs on motors, rollers, bearings, belts, chains, and conveyor components.
- Read and follow electrical diagrams, equipment manuals, and work instructions.
- Keep accurate maintenance records and complete assigned work orders.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Follow all company safety procedures and preventative maintenance schedules.
Qualifications:
- 6 months to 1 year of maintenance, mechanic helper, machine operator, or manufacturing maintenance experience.
- Experience using hand tools and power tools.
- Mechanical aptitude with a willingness to learn industrial maintenance.
- Ability to read or learn basic electrical schematics and diagrams.
- Comfortable working around conveyor systems, machinery, and automated equipment.
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
