In Tune is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Violin Teacher to join our growing music school. We're looking for someone who is passionate about inspiring students, building confidence through music, and creating a fun, supportive learning environment for children, teens, and adults.
This is a part-time W-2 employee position with consistent teaching schedule. We are looking for a teacher with weekday after-school and Saturday availability.

Ten years ago, we founded In Tune with a simple goal: to create a musical community where students can learn, grow, and share their love of music.
Located in the heart of Maplewood, NJ, we proudly serve families throughout Maplewood, South Orange, Millburn, West Orange, and the surrounding communities. We offer private lessons and group classes for students of all ages and skill levels, with an emphasis on building meaningful relationships between teachers, students, and families.
Our lessons are structured, engaging, and fun, helping students develop strong musical foundations while achieving their individual goals. We believe everyone is musical, and everyone can learn to play an instrument.
Position Overview
Teach private violin lessons to students of varying ages and experience levels in 30, 45, and 60 minute lesson formats.
You'll have the opportunity to develop long-term relationships with your students while helping them build strong technique, musicality, confidence, and a lifelong love of music.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Music or equivalent professional experience preferred
- Previous violin teaching experience with students of varying ages and abilities
- Strong lesson planning, communication, and classroom management skills
- Positive, patient, and encouraging teaching styleAbility to build strong relationships with students and their families
- Ability to teach additional instruments a plus e.g. piano or guitar
- Commitment to tracking student progress and communicating regularly with parents
- Collaborative attitude and enthusiasm for contributing to In Tune's supportive teaching community
- Weekday after-school and Saturday availability
- Availability to participate in student recitals and school events, particularly our annual recitals in May and June
Schedule and Compensation
- Part-time W-2 employee position with a minimum of 8 to 10 hours a week with opportunities for additional hours of teaching as enrollment grows.
- Availability required 2-3 days per week, after school hours plus weekend hours.
