<Overview>
We are seeking a strong, experienced 3rd Grade ELA Teacher with exceptional classroom management skills to deliver high-quality, standards-aligned literacy instruction. The ideal candidate will be confident in leading a structured classroom environment, maintaining student engagement, and managing behaviors effectively while supporting students in developing reading, writing, and comprehension skills. This role requires a proactive educator who can create a positive, focused learning environment where all students are supported and held to high expectations.

- Type: Contract (Independent Contractor through CarePhilly Created)
- Schedule: School-day hours (typically 7–8 hours/day) 815am-415pm
- Compensation: $28
- Location: In person
<Duties>
- Plan and deliver daily ELA lessons aligned with state standards and school curriculum
- Reading comprehension
- Vocabulary development
- Grammar and language conventions
- Writing (opinion, narrative, informational)
- Use a variety of instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs
- Incorporate guided reading, small group instruction, and independent practice
- Differentiate instruction for students at varying reading levels
- Provide targeted support for struggling learners
- Implement accommodations for students with IEPs or 504 plans (if applicable)
- Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment
- Assess student performance through formal and informal assessments
- Monitor student progress in reading and writing
- Maintain accurate records of grades and student data
- Use data to inform instruction and adjust teaching strategies
<Qualifications>
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field (required)
- Valid Teaching Certification (preferred or required based on school)
- Experience teaching elementary ELA (preferred)
- Strong classroom management and instructional skills
- Ability to differentiate instruction and support diverse learners
- Clearances -FBI, Criminal and Child ABuse
