Hotel Maintenance Technician

We are looking for a reliable, hands-on Maintenance Technician to join our hotel team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys fixing things, takes pride in keeping a property looking its best, and can work independently while providing excellent service to our guests.
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the hotel's guest rooms, public areas, equipment, and building systems while responding quickly to maintenance requests and ensuring a safe, comfortable environment for our guests and team.
What You'll Do
- Perform preventative and routine maintenance throughout the hotel
- Respond to guest and staff maintenance requests promptly and professionally
- Troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliances, doors, locks, furniture, and general building issues
- Perform repairs and maintenance in guest rooms, including during occupied-room situations
- Maintain hotel equipment and mechanical systems
- Complete preventative maintenance inspections and document completed work
- Paint, patch drywall, replace fixtures, repair furniture, and perform general building repairs
- Troubleshoot basic electrical and plumbing issues
- Assist with HVAC troubleshooting and filter changes
- Maintain pools/spas and related equipment as applicable
- Keep maintenance areas, tools, and equipment clean and organized
- Maintain compliance with hotel safety standards and applicable codes
- Respond to emergency maintenance situations when necessary
- Coordinate with management and outside contractors when specialized repairs are required
- Help identify recurring maintenance issues and recommend long-term solutions
- Perform other duties necessary to keep the hotel operating safely and efficiently
What We're Looking For
- Previous hotel, apartment, commercial, facilities, or building maintenance experience preferred
- Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and general repairs
- Ability to use common hand and power tools safely
- Ability to prioritize multiple maintenance requests
- Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently
- Professional communication and customer-service skills
- Ability to interact professionally with guests and hotel staff
- Ability to work on ladders and perform physically demanding maintenance tasks
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull equipment and materials as required
- Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced hotel environment
Experience is preferred, but the right candidate with strong mechanical ability and a willingness to learn will be considered.
Schedule
This is a full-time position. Hotel operations run 24/7, so flexibility with scheduling, weekends, holidays, and occasional emergency calls is required.
