Job Summary
Integrity Forest Products is seeking a reliable and safety-focused Scragg Sawyer / Machine Operator to join our sawmill team. This role is responsible for operating production equipment, supporting maintenance activities, and ensuring high-quality lumber output in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate sawmill equipment safely and efficiently
- Perform daily and monthly safety inspections
- Follow all Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and safety protocols
- Monitor production to ensure materials meet quality specifications
- Adjust machinery settings to maintain product standards
- Assist with equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs
- Participate in preventative maintenance programs (greasing, inspecting, servicing equipment)
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe
- Record production and maintenance data using Microsoft Word and Excel
- Communicate effectively with team members and follow company procedures
- Train on and operate various equipment across the facility
- Operate forklift or loader (training/certification provided)
- Support additional projects and tasks as needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
- Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel
- Willingness to learn equipment operation and internal systems
- Experience in manufacturing, sawmill, or heavy equipment operation is a plus (but not required)
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and lift throughout the shift
- Frequently lift up to 50 lbs; occasionally more
- Perform repetitive motions and operate hand tools
- Work in a physically demanding industrial environment
Work Environment
- Industrial sawmill setting with exposure to:
- Wood dust, grease, and welding fumes
- Loud noise levels
- Outdoor elements and varying weather conditions
