Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Assistant to support our facilities and manufacturing operations. This role involves performing a variety of maintenance tasks to ensure the smooth and efficient functioning of equipment and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills, with experience in facilities maintenance and customer service. Duties
- Assist with routine and preventive maintenance across manufacturing and facilities areas
- Perform electrical repairs using schematics, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic tools
- Conduct welding and residential painting as needed for facility upkeep
- Operate Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) to troubleshoot and maintain automation systems
- Use CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) for work order management and documentation
- Read and interpret schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical manuals
- Support supervising staff in maintenance projects and team tasks
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and proper use of personal protective equipment
- Assist in troubleshooting mechanical issues with equipment using tools such as ohmmeters and other diagnostic devices
- Provide excellent customer service within internal teams by responding promptly to maintenance requests
Qualifications
- Proven experience in facilities maintenance, manufacturing, or related fields
- Strong mechanical knowledge with skills in welding, residential painting, and electrical systems
- Familiarity with schematics, CMMS software, PLCs, and electrical troubleshooting tools such as ohmmeters
- Ability to read technical manuals and schematics effectively
- Supervising experience is a plus, demonstrating leadership capabilities
- Excellent communication skills in English for clear reporting and teamwork
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to electrical work, welding, and general maintenance practices
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Prior experience with customer service within maintenance roles is advantageous
