Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Certified Pharmacy Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting patient care by ensuring the safe and effective dispensing of medications. This position requires strong communication skills, a solid understanding of medical terminology, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, particularly within hospital settings focused on critical and acute care. IV Mixing experience preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Preparing and dispensing medications while adhering to safety protocols and aseptic techniques.
- Provide exceptional patient service by answering questions and addressing concerns regarding medications and health products.
- Maintain accurate records of medication dispensation, inventory management, and patient profiles.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Educate patients on proper medication usage.
- Support the pharmacy team in maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Pharmacy Technician is required.
- IV Mixing highly preferred.
- Previous experience in a hospital pharmacy or outpatient clinic environment is preferred.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology related to pharmaceuticals and patient care.
- Proficiency in aseptic technique for compounding sterile preparations.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient service.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure while managing multiple tasks.
- Valid State Drivers License for travel to clinics is required.
