Are you passionate about women's health and helping nurses grow in their careers? We're partnering with a respected acute care medical center seeking a Perinatal Nurse Educator to lead education, mentorship, and professional development across a comprehensive Women's & Children's program. This is an opportunity to step into a highly visible leadership role where you'll directly influence patient care, support nursing excellence, and help shape the future of an entire perinatal team.
You'll join an organization that is deeply committed to evidence-based practice, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Leadership values innovation and professional growth, providing educators with the support and autonomy needed to develop meaningful educational programs while serving as a trusted clinical resource for staff throughout the department.
In this role, you'll oversee educational initiatives for Labor & Delivery, OB Triage, Maternal Infant, Newborn Nursery, L&D OR, and L&D PACU. You'll design and facilitate orientation programs, annual competencies, simulation training, and continuing education while collaborating closely with nursing leadership to identify learning opportunities and strengthen clinical practice. From competency validation and performance improvement projects to introducing new evidence-based practices, you'll play an integral role in ensuring nurses have the tools and knowledge to provide exceptional care to mothers and newborns.
This position is ideal for an experienced Labor & Delivery nurse who enjoys teaching just as much as bedside care. You'll serve as a mentor, clinical expert, and resource for staff, helping develop future nurses while maintaining your own clinical expertise through occasional patient care. You'll also partner with local nursing schools, assist with accreditation readiness, participate in shared governance initiatives, and contribute to departmental policies that continue advancing the quality of care. We're looking for a California licensed RN with current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications and at least two years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience. Experience circulating in the OR is required, while proficiency with AORN guidelines, OB scrub competency, and STABLE certification are highly valued.
Outside of work, you'll enjoy everything California's beautiful Central Coast has to offer. This region combines stunning coastline, award-winning wineries, outdoor recreation, and a mild year-round climate with easy access to larger metropolitan areas. Whether you enjoy hiking, beaches, weekend road trips, or simply a slower pace of life, this location offers an exceptional quality of life both personally and professionally.
This full-time permanent opportunity offers a competitive hourly rate of $68.77–$93.88 per hour, along with the chance to make a lasting impact on nursing education, staff development, and maternal-child health outcomes.
