Job Title: Safety Coordinator
Job Summary: CraneTech is seeking a proactive, field-focused Safety Coordinator to support and strengthen our safety culture across service, inspection, fabrication, and installation operations. This role partners closely with technicians, Service Coordinators, sales, and leadership to reduce risk, prevent incidents, and ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and customer-specific safety requirements.
The Safety Coordinator is responsible for implementing and continuously improving our Safety Management System, conducting audits and inspections, supporting job safety analyses, leading investigations, and delivering meaningful safety training that drives real behavioral change.
This role is both strategic and hands-on; equally comfortable writing policy as they are walking a jobsite.
Key Responsibilities:
Safety Program Administration
- Execute, monitor, and continuously improve CraneTech’s Safety Management System.
- Develop, revise, and implement safety policies, procedures, and best practice manuals.
- Ensure compliance with applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain required safety documentation, reports, and compliance records.
- Support contractor management platforms (ISNetworld, Avetta, etc.) and customer prequalification processes.
Field Inspections & Audits
- Conduct routine and unscheduled safety inspections of jobsites, facilities, vehicles, and equipment.
- Identify hazardous conditions and implement interim controls until hazards are abated.
- Perform operational audits across service, inspection, and installation activities.
- Monitor compliance with Lockout/Tagout, fall protection, confined space entry, hot work, and hazard communication programs.
Risk Assessment & Hazard Mitigation
- Lead and review Job Safety Analyses (JSAs/JSEAs) with technicians and third-party contractors.
- Conduct formal risk assessments and recommend corrective actions to eliminate or control hazardous practices.
- Track safety trends and use data to implement preventive measures and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Incident Investigation & Reporting
- Investigate incidents, near-misses, and property damage events.
- Gather statements, photographs, and documentation to determine root cause.
- Prepare clear, professional reports with corrective and preventive action plans.
- Present findings to leadership and monitor follow-up actions to completion.
Training & Safety Culture Development
- Deliver new hire safety orientation and ongoing safety training programs.
- Provide technical training on PPE, hazard recognition, fall protection, confined space, and other safety topics.
- Lead safety meetings and toolbox talks.
- Promote a culture of Stop Work Authority and shared accountability across the organization.
- Support emergency preparedness planning and drills.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Serve as a safety advisor to field leadership and executive management.
- Partner with Service Coordinators to proactively manage field risk.
- Support operations planning to ensure safety considerations are integrated into project execution.

Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Occupational Health, Engineering, or related field or equivalent field experience.
- 3+ years of safety experience in industrial, construction, manufacturing, energy, or field service environments.
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety compliance standards.
- Experience conducting safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
- Demonstrated experience leading incident investigations and performing root cause analysis.
- Experience developing or supporting a Safety Management System.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and safety reporting systems.
- Ability to travel to jobsites as required.
Preferred:
- OSHA 30 Certification (OSHA 500/510 preferred).
- First Aid/CPR/AED Certification.
- Experience with confined space entry, fall protection, hot work, and lockout/tagout programs.
- Experience supporting contractor management systems (ISNetworld, KPA, SharePoint, etc.).
- Master’s degree in Safety & Occupational Health or related discipline.
- Experience in crane service, heavy industrial, oil & gas, or construction environments.
