Position Summary
Jett Concrete, Inc. is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Traveling Concrete Superintendent to oversee commercial and industrial concrete construction projects throughout the Southeast. The Superintendent is responsible for managing all field operations, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires extensive travel and the ability to lead crews in a fast-paced construction environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day field operations for multiple commercial concrete projects.
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise field personnel, subcontractors, and equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, project specifications, and construction schedules.
- Coordinate daily work activities with Project Managers and clients.
- Ensure projects remain on schedule and proactively resolve delays.
- Maintain high standards of concrete quality, layout accuracy, and workmanship.
- Conduct daily jobsite safety meetings and enforce OSHA safety regulations.
- Perform quality control inspections throughout each phase of construction.
- Coordinate concrete placements, finishing operations, reinforcing steel installation, and formwork.
- Schedule labor, equipment, and material deliveries.
- Track production and labor productivity.
- Complete daily reports, timesheets, and project documentation.
- Maintain communication with owners, general contractors, inspectors, and vendors.
- Train, mentor, and develop field employees.
- Identify and resolve field issues before they impact project progress.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and project specifications.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Concrete Superintendent (commercial preferred).
- Extensive knowledge of:
- Structural concrete
- Slab-on-grade
- Foundations
- Elevated decks
- Reinforcing steel
- Formwork systems
- Concrete placement and finishing
- Ability to read construction plans and specifications.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and scheduling abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software (Procore, Autodesk Build, or similar preferred).
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Willingness to travel extensively and stay overnight as required.
Pay: From $113,200.00 per year
