Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will assist in overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food preparation and presentation. This role requires a strong understanding of dining practices, inventory control, and team management to deliver exceptional dining experiences.
Duties
- Assist the Executive Chef in planning and directing food preparation in the kitchen.
- Oversee daily kitchen operations to ensure efficiency and quality in food preparation.
- Manage inventory control, including ordering supplies and maintaining stock levels.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and handling regulations within the Dietary department.
- Train and supervise kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Prepare high-quality dishes while adhering to menu specifications and presentation standards.
- Collaborate with catering teams for special events and menu planning.
- Help maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, ensuring all equipment is properly sanitized.
- Participate in menu development and recipe creation, incorporating seasonal ingredients.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a cook or Sous Chef in a restaurant is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary skills.
- Familiarity with inventory control systems and food handling practices.
- Excellent team management skills with the ability to lead and motivate staff.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and a passion for delivering exceptional culinary experiences.
