As a CNC Machinist you would set up, operate, and make tool adjustments for various types of manual, numerically controlled, and computerized machine shop equipment.
Day Shift: Monday – Friday, 6a.m – 2:30p.m.
Essential Responsibilities:

Read and interpret engineering drawings, production routings, layouts, and set-up sheets.

Use precision measuring equipment to verify dimensional conformance of parts.

Set-up and operate various classes of production CNC machines including; lathes, vertical mills, and horizontal mills.

MUST be able to write simple to complex CNC programs at the machine and make tool offsets and adjustments as needed.

Operate manual machine tools as needed.

Provide training and assistance to other employees in the CNC machine cell.

Sets up and operates conventional, special purpose, and numerical control (NC) machines and machining centers to fabricate metallic and non-metallic parts.

Training on studying blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.

Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders, and shapers.

Training on the following: Set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.

Verifies conformance of finished work piece to specifications.

Possesses a mid-level working knowledge of other job functions within all of the Production areas.

Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
- Education and/or Experience: High school diploma and at least 5 years experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. CNC Certificate or Associate’s degree, preferred.

Proficiency in CAM Programming (CAMWorks, Fusion 360, and/or Mastercam.

Strong knowledge of cutting tools, inserts, holding fixtures and tool holders.

Experience with the download and start-up of CNC programs.
