The Kennel Attendant is responsible for providing daily care for dogs staying at Park-A-Pup for daycare, boarding, or basic grooming services. This role ensures that every dog in our care is safe, clean, comfortable, and well supervised.
Kennel Attendants help maintain a calm and structured environment by properly handling dogs, monitoring their behavior, and keeping the facility clean and sanitary. This position reports to the Manager and Assistant Manager.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Monitor dogs for signs of illness, injury, stress, or unusual behavior

Safely handle and restrain dogs of all sizes

Assist with bathing and basic grooming services

Feed dogs according to scheduled instructions

Ensure each dog’s belongings (blankets, toys, treats, leashes) are properly labeled and stored

Keep kennels clean, dry, and sanitized throughout the day

Clean and disinfect play areas, kennels, bowls, and equipment
-
Wash and dry towels and blankets
-
Pick up waste and dispose of trash properly

Record information about feeding schedules, behavior, and health observations

Report any concerns about a dog’s health or behavior to supervisors immediately

Assist team members to maintain a safe and organized environment

Perform other duties as assigned

Comfortable handling dogs of all sizes and temperaments

Ability to read basic dog body language and behavior

Strong attention to cleanliness and sanitation

Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team

Previous experience working with dogs or animals is preferred but not required
This position requires frequent physical activity, including:

Standing and walking for extended periods

Bending, kneeling, crouching, and reaching

Cleaning kennels and facility areas

Working both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions

Lifting and carrying dogs weighing up to 50 lbs

Assisting with dogs weighing up to 150 lbs
