Commercial Construction Project Manager
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Construction and Restoration Project Manager to join our team, specializing in tenant improvements, senior and assisted living construction, and commercial restoration projects. This position is primarily office‑based in Phoenix, with local travel throughout the Phoenix metro area and occasional travel across the U.S. for site visits, job walks, and project oversight.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail‑oriented, self‑disciplined, and able to work effectively and productively while operating independently. Candidates must be experienced in managing multiple commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
Key Responsibilities
Manage commercial construction projects including:
- Senior living and assisted living facilities
- Commercial restoration and CapEx projects
- Tenant improvement (TI) projects
Oversee all phases of construction:
- Preconstruction, budgeting, and estimating
- Scheduling and procurement
- Construction execution and coordination
- Project closeout
Project & Client Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors
- Develop, maintain, and update project schedules and budgets
- Review and manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and contracts
- Monitor project costs and ensure financial performance aligns with budgets
- Manage owner pay application process and receivables tracking
- Conduct job walks, site visits, and project progress meetings
- Identify and proactively resolve project risks and issues
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and quality expectations
- Ensure jobsites are in compliance with all safety and jurisdictional requirements
Additional Responsibilities
- Participate in a weekly 24/7 on‑call emergency service rotation (additional compensation provided while on‑call)
- Work independently with strong self‑discipline, maintaining productivity and effectiveness without direct supervision
Travel Expectations
- Primarily based in the office in Phoenix
- Frequent travel within the Phoenix metro area for active projects
- Periodic out‑of‑state travel within the U.S. for site visits, job walks, and project coordination
Qualifications
- 3–7+ years of experience as a Project Manager in commercial construction
- Experience with commercial tenant improvement construction projects
- Strong ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Job Tread, Jobber, Company Cam, Monday, or similar)
- Solid understanding of construction processes, documentation, and contracts
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Strong problem‑solving ability and attention to detail
- Self‑motivated, disciplined, and capable of working independently
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field
- Experience with multi‑site or phased occupied projects
- Familiarity with permitting and regulations across multiple jurisdictions
- Experience with tenant improvement, senior living, assisted living, or restoration projects
