- Operate commercial dishwashing equipment efficiently, ensuring all dishes, pots, pans, and utensils are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized according to food safety standards.
- Follow strict sanitation procedures for cleaning kitchen tools, surfaces, and equipment to maintain a hygienic workspace.
- Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, including basic ingredient handling and setup.
- Support bussing duties by clearing tables and transporting used dishes to the dishwashing area promptly.
- Adhere to all kitchen health and safety standards, including proper manual handling techniques and safe operation of kitchen machinery.
- Maintain organization of dishware storage areas, ensuring all items are stored safely and correctly after cleaning.
- Participate in routine sanitation inspections and ensure compliance with food safety management protocols.
Experience
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate.
- Familiarity with food safety sanitizing procedures and sanitation standards is advantageous.
- Basic understanding of kitchen equipment operation, including dishwashers and manual handling techniques.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling large pots or moving supplies.
- Experience with catering or banquet settings is a plus, demonstrating flexibility in fast-paced environments.
