Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and cook menu items according to standardized recipes and safety standards in production
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as slicing, dicing, and portioning ingredients using proper knife skills and slicing techniques
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety management protocols
- Support menu planning efforts by suggesting creative ideas and ensuring timely meal preparation for service periods
- Follow all safety standards in food handling, storage, and sanitation to ensure a safe working environment
- Collaborate with team members to deliver high-quality food service and catering orders efficiently
- Ensure proper food presentation and garnishing before serving dishes to guests or customers
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or restaurant settings with a strong understanding of kitchen operations
- Knowledge of dietary department procedures and dietary aide experience is a plus
- Familiarity with food safety standards in production environments and food handling practices
- Ability to execute slicing techniques accurately using knives and other kitchen tools
- Experience in menu planning, meal preparation, and catering services is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of the food industry’s best practices for safety, cleanliness, and efficiency
